It seems lately there is a lot of fear we have to deal with every day. Fear can cause people to react in different ways. What all the uncertainty has made me realize is that I’ve been comfortable way too long. While comfort can be good, it can also stifle growth. In moving past my comfort zone, I’m putting myself out there. I’m going to be honest with sharing my knowledge and my feelings. I have been in learning and development for quite some time and have worked with some of the most recognized brands in the Fortune 500. I hope to use this blog as a platform to share advice and write about topics relevant to training, business, and leadership.
One big step I’ve made is fostering a cat. I’ve named her Penelope. Penelope is so very special. This little girl was hit by a car, survived, and still loves people. I’m sure she will give me much more than I give back to her. Six months ago this was only something I would talk about, almost as if a better version of myself somewhere in the distance.
Another positive outcome of the times we are experiencing is the heightened purpose to stay connected with colleagues, friends, and family. Through this blog I’d like to stay connected to you. I’m hoping this will be not only a good exercise for my personal growth and development, but helpful to those I might not ever get to know through my daily routines. Let’s do this! Let’s make those connections and step outside our comfort zones.
